Chavez Ravine, CA — Happy start of the week Dodger fans! The Dodgers are coming off a series sweep against the juggernaut Braves in a highly anticipated series.

The story of the day is of course the return of Walker Buehler, who will take the mound for the first time since June 2022.

The nerves were prevalent for Buehler as he allowed two runs on three hits in the first inning. Buehler got bailed out of the first as Tim Anderson was called out for catcher interference as Will Smith was trying to throw a runner out at second.

NL Player of the Week Shohei Ohtani continued his dominance as he launched a 441-foot bomb to dead center to tie the game in the first.

Freddie Freeman decided he wanted a piece of the action as he followed Ohtani with a homer of his own as the Dodgers went back-to-back to take the lead.

Nick Gordon would tie the game in the second as he launched a solo shot that Andy Pages almost stole back, but the ball deflected out of his glove.

James Outman finally showed some life as he launched his first home run, a two-run shot, in nearly a month to put the Dodgers up 5-3. Teoscar Hernandez joined the party as he launched a solo home run in the third to cap off the scoring for LA.

For his first start back, Walker Buehler had a decent outing as he went 4 innings, only allowing 3 runs on six hits and striking out 4. A positive note coming from this start is that he topped out at 98 MPH and was definitely on top of his command as the game went on.

Ryan Yarbrough, Blake Treinen, and Alex Vesia shut out Miami in the final 5 innings to secure the win. Dodgers pick up their fifth straight win and stay undefeated during this home stand. The Dodgers will look for the series win tomorrow starting at 7:10 PM PT as Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the mound for Los Angeles and Edward Cabrera for Miami.
