Game 35, 5/4/2024: Dodgers 11, Braves 2

Chavez Ravine, CA — The Dodgers came into game two of this anticipated NL clash on a high note after last night’s first walk-off win of the year.

Los Angeles looked to keep their momentum going on the mound as they sent out flame-throwing ace, Tyler Glasnow, who is leading all of baseball in wins (5) and strikeouts (54).

After a leadoff walk to begin the second inning, Max Muncy got the scoring bid going with some fireworks as he launched his 6th home run of the year and put the Dodgers on top 2-0.

Shohei Ohtani decided to add some fireworks of his own as he slashed a solo shot to put the Dodgers up by three in the third.

That was Ohtani’s eighth home run of the season and puts him on top of Dave Roberts for the most Dodger home runs hit by a Japanese-born player.

Austin Riley added another RBI to his weekend as he drove in a run to put the Braves on the board in the fourth.

Andy Pages added extra insurance and put the fourth run on the board for the Dodgers as he hit the fourth homer of his young campaign.

Ohtani added to his historic day by doubling in a run and Freddie Freeman singled in a run of his own to put the Dodgers up by five in the fourth.

Will Smith capped off an explosive fourth by slashing his 26th RBI of the year and finishing a four-run inning.

It was Max Muncy who stole the show by hitting three long balls on the night and finishing 4-5 with 4 RBI.

Glasnow ran away with the run support and had another outstanding outing as he went seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 10.

Gus Varland and J.P. Feyereisen locked down the Braves in the final two innings of play to secure the series win with a final of 11-2.

The Dodgers will look for the sweep as they send out lefty James Paxton and the Braves will send out their own lefty in Max Fried. Game time is at 1:10 PM PT.
