Muncy to be Activated Friday

LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 26: Max Muncy #13 of the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrates his eighteenth inning walk-off home run to defeat the the Boston Red Sox 3-2 in Game Three of the 2018 World Series at Dodger Stadium on October 26, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Max Muncy is set to be activated from the injured list ahead of tomorrow’s game against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Muncy was put on the IL on August 30 with a fractured right wrist after being hit by a fastball from Padres left hander Matt Strahm.

Because the minor league regular season has already concluded, Muncy has been rehabbing at the Dodgers’ spring training facility, Camelback Ranch, in Glendale, Arizona. Muncy has faced live pitching, and hit three home runs in simulated at-bats yesterday.

Muncy has had a very productive season for the Dodgers, and his addition back into the lineup is incredibly valuable. In 129 games, Muncy is hitting .253 with 33 home runs, 87 RBIs, and an OPS of .899. Muncy was named an all star for the first time in his career and will be a member of the third 30 home run quartet in Dodger history if Justin Turner can reach 30 (currently has 27).

The Dodgers play a rubber match with the Orioles tonight before heading to New York for a three game series with the Mets that will feature three incredible pitching matchups.
