GAME NOTES
DODGER NOTES:
The Dodgers beat the Pirates for the seventh consecutive time at Dodger Stadium and snapped their two-game overall slide, beating Pittsburgh 3-0 to open their three-game series. It was the Dodgers’ second shutout win of the season after Kershaw’s complete game gem on Opening Day.
Zack Greinke impressed in his Dodger debut, allowing just two hits and striking out six in 6.1 scoreless innings. Greinke retired 14 in a row between the second and seventh innings and improved to 5-1 in seven career starts against Pittsburgh.
Andre Ethier powered a 2-2 pitch into the Right Field Pavilion to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the second inning. With that home run, Ethier is now 3-for-7 off left-handers with two doubles and a home run this season.
After an 0-for-12 start to the season, Matt Kemp roped an RBI double into the right-center gap to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning.
Adrian Gonzalez followed up Kemp’s RBI double with one of his own to knock Jonathan Sanchez out of the game and drive in his first run of the season. Last year, Gonzalez tied for seventh among big leaguers with 108 combined RBI.
Brandon League picked up his first save of the season and has successfully converted all seven save opportunities as a Dodger. League has not allowed a run in his last 10 appearances (11.0 IP) dating to Sept. 16, 2012.

PIRATES NOTES:
Jonathan Sanchez took the loss in his Pirates debut, allowing three runs on six hits in 5.0 innings. Sanchez dropped to 3-7 in 18 career games (14 starts) against the Dodgers.
Andrew McCutchen went 1-for-3 to increase his hitting streak to four games to open the season. McCutchen, who had also stolen a base in each of the Pirates first three games, was caught stealing in his only attempt tonight.
