Dodgers Game Recap: World Series Game 4 vs Rays 10/24/2020: Late game miscues lead to Dodgers loss

After a huge Game 3 win, the Dodgers looked to pull ahead in the series as they sent Julio Urías to the mound.

Game Recap: The scoring started early once again with a solo home run from Justin Turner in the top of the 1st. Corey Seager followed up with a solo home run of his own in the top of the 3rd. Randy Arozareña got in on the home run derby with a solo shot in the bottom of the 4th. In the next half inning, Max Muncy hit an RBI single to extend the Dodger lead to 3-1. Hunter Renfroe would answer back with a solo home run in the bottom of the 5th. Again the Dodgers would get a big 2 out RBI, this time from Kike Hernández in the top of the 6th. The 2 run Dodger lead didn’t last long as Brandon Lowe hit a 3-run home run off Pedro Baez to give the Rays a 5-4 lead. The Dodgers would regain the lead with yet another 2 out RBI, this time Joc Pederson delivered with a single to score Corey Seager and Justin Turner. After the Dodgers got the lead back, Kevin Kiermaier tied the game up with a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th. Corey Seager added to his stellar performance with a huge 2 out RBI single to give the Dodgers a 7-6 lead in the top of the 8th. The drama wouldn’t end there as the Rays called on Brett Phillips to be the hero in the bottom of the 9th. In a 1-2 count with 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, Brett Phillips delivered with a single to center field. After an error from Chris Taylor, Kiermaier scored from 2nd base. Randy Arozareña running hard from 1st base, he headed around 3rd trying to score. He trips near home plate but a fielding error from catcher Will Smith allows Arozarena to score and break the Dodgers hearts. The Rays pull off an improbable comeback to beat the Dodgers and even the series at 2.
