Coming off of a heartbreaking loss, the Dodgers sent their first-ballot Hall of Famer to the mound. In Game 1 of the 2020 World Series, Clayton Kershaw had it all working. He went 6 innings giving up only 2 hits and 1 earned run. In Game 5, he looked to repeat that performance.

Game Recap: In order to win Game 5, the Dodgers offense needed to come out and put some early stress on Tyler Glasnow. Mookie Betts got it all started in the top of the 1st with a leadoff double. Corey Seager continued his hot streak with an RBI single to score Betts. After some great baserunning from Seager, he ended up at 3rd base when Cody Bellinger brought him in to score with an RBI single of his own.

With an early 2-0 lead for the Dodgers, Joc Pederson added to it in the top of the 2nd when he launched a solo home run to left center field. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Rays got on the board with an RBI triple from Yandy Diaz. Diaz would later score with an RBI single from Randy Arozarena. Kershaw settled in after that but got in to some trouble in the bottom of the 4th. Manuel Margot found himself at 3rd base and in position to score and tie the game at 3. A questionable decision came when Margot tried to steal home with 2 outs. Luckily for the Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw did not panic and threw Margot out at the plate. This would cause a huge momentum swing as Max Muncy launched a solo home run the next inning to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead.

The scoring ended there, both bullpens came in and did not allow a single run. Dustin May and Victor Gonzalez appeared and gave the Dodgers big time innings. In the 9th inning, Dave Roberts called on Blake Treinen to close it out. Treinen struck out 2 and secured a massive Game 5 win for the Dodgers and now one win away from their first World Series title since 1988.
