The Dodgers now one win away from their first World Series title since 1988. In Game 6, the Dodgers try to finish the job while the Rays aimed to force a Game 7. Dave Roberts called on Tony Gonsolin to help get one final win.

Game Recap: Randy Arozareña stayed hot with a solo home run in the top of the 1st inning to give the Rays an early lead. The next inning after Gonsolin got into some trouble, decided Dylan Floro would be the one to get out of the jam. Floro came up big with a 3 pitch strikeout against Randy Arozareña to end the top of the 2nd inning. The Dodgers bullpen combined for some huge innings as Alex Wood, Pedro Baez, Victor González, and Brusdar Graterol held the Rays offense in check. On the other side, Blake Snell was absolutely dominating the Dodgers offense giving up only 2 hits and striking out 9. The most controversial decision came in the bottom of the 6th when Rays manager Kevin Cash decided to pull Blake Snell and go to his bullpen. After pulling Snell, the Dodgers offense immediately got on the board with a double from Mookie Betts to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Austin Barnes would score and tie the game with a wild pitch from Nick Anderson. The Dodgers would then take a 2-1 lead as Mookie Betts showed off his amazing baserunning skills when he got a great jump and slid into home safely to score with the infield in. It didn’t take long for Mookie Betts to deliver once again, this time with his bat launching a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th to extend the lead to 3-1. Julio Urías closed out another game, pitching the final 3 innings and secured the biggest win of his short career. The Dodgers finally finished the job and win their first World Series title in 32 years, Los Angeles now the city of champions.

MVP Award: The 2020 World Series MVP was awarded to shortstop Corey Seager who hit .400 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs, leading the Dodgers offensive charge.

What he said: After a crazy year for the men in blue, everyone will look forward to next year. But for now, the Dodgers are world champions. Like the great Vin Scully said, “there will be a new day, and eventually a new year, and when the upcoming Winter gives away to Spring, ah, rest assured, once again, it will be time for Dodger baseball!”.
