Baseball fans rejoice!

After a long, grueling 99 days of deadlines, negotiations, and rejections, we finally have a deal! The MLB and MLBPA reached an agreement on a new CBA, and baseball is officially back! The deal has been ratified and free agency is now open! All that being said, let’s take a look at some of the names the Dodgers are associated with, and if it seems likely.

Freddie Freeman

The 2020 NL MVP, and 2021 WS champion Freddie Freeman is the arguably the biggest star still yet to sign, and as I wrote in the past, this should be a no brainer. Multiple insiders are reporting that it’s the Braves, Dodgers, or Yankees for Freeman, with Yankees as outsiders. With the new CBA adding a DH, Freeman or Muncy could slide to the DH spot, and not have to play someone out of position. It makes so much sense, and I’m starting to think it may happen.

Clayton Kershaw

Clayton Kershaw, presumed to be a Dodger for life, always has rumblings of him going home to Texas to close out his career. This time around, with his age only going up, it’s starting to feel like less and less of an after thought. The 3 time Cy young award winner, has meant so much to LA over his 14 year Dodger career, and I do believe he will end up returning when it’s all said and done.

Carlos Correa

The Houston Astros cheated the Dodgers out of a World Series title in 2017, and now, cornerstone shortstop Carlos Correa is a free agent. The idea has been floated out that there may be interest in a shocking relationship with the Dodgers. Dodger fanswill certainly besmirch anyone who thinks it would be a good fit. Yet when the 27 year old ends up 30 home runs and 100 RBIs, I think Dodger fans would come around to him. However, I think it’s a major longshot that he ends up joining the boys in blue.

Kenley Jansen

The anomaly that is Kenley Jansen, had one of his best seasons of recent memory last year. He posted a 2.22 ERA, his lowest since 2017, and 38 saves. The 34 year old closer has been extremely inconsistent, and divisive amongst dodger fans over the last few seasons. As much as I am team Kenley, I don’t think the dodgers will give him the amount of years he might be seeking.
