Dodgers News: Dodgers are reportedly calling up Andy Pages

The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly calling up their number third-ranked prospect (No.93 MLB), Andy Pages, according to Francys Romero.

The 23-year-old is already on L.A.’s 40-man roster, so they’ll only need to make a corresponding 26-man move, though it’s possible his promotion still leads to a 40-man move.

The most logical options would be several moves revolving around recently acquired Taylor Trammel or Chris Taylor, who have been subpar offensively this season.

Chris Taylor is in the middle of the worst stretch of his career, starting off the 224 season going 1-for-33 at the plate, hitting to a slash line of .030/.154/.030, an 0184 OPS, and an -46 OPS+ with 17 strikeouts.

Andy Pages missed nearly the entire 2023 season due to a torn labrum that required season-ending surgery. However, upon his return this spring, Pages posted elite numbers at big league camp, hitting .471/.571/1.000 with 9 RBI and two home runs.

Pages was ultimately optioned to Triple-A to get everyday at-bats since he had less than 20 career at-bats in Triple-A.

Pages has obliterated Triple-A pitching in the early stages of the 2024 season, tallying 73 plate appearances and recording a .371/.452/.694 slash with five homers, three doubles, a triple, two steals, an 11% walk rate, and a 17.8% strikeout rate.

Hopefully, with the promotion, Pages can bring much-needed stability to the bottom of the Dodgers lineup, which has struggled so far between Gavin Lux, Chris Taylor, and James Outman.

The Dodgers have yet to make a corresponding move or the move official, so check back here for updated details.
