Dodgers Opinion: When Should Andy Pages Get Called Up?

via MILB.com

The question is, when should the Dodgers bring CF Andy Pages? Pages missed all of last year in the minors with a shoulder injury and made his comeback in Spring Training this year. Pages was invited to Spring Training in 2024, in seven games, Pages had 17AB / 8H / 1 Double / 1 triple / 2HR / 9RBI / .471AVG / .571OBP / 1.000SLG / 1.571 OPS. Before the Dodgers left for Korea, he was sent back down to the minors.

Pages started off the 2024 season with the Dodgers Triple-A affiliate OKC. In the first few games, Pages was getting back into rhythm being back in the minors. In Oklahoma’s series against Round Rock, Page’s bat came alive. In today’s game, Pages hit 2 home runs; his first home run was crushed to left field with an exit velocity of 110.3 mph, a distance of 406FT, at a 26-degree angle, and his second went deep to left center field. Andy Pages has 23H / 5HR / 15RBI / 2SB / .371AVG / .452OBP / 1.146OPS in the first fifteen games with OKC.

What is being missed with all the hype on Pages bat, is his ability to field. Pages closing speed when a ball is hit into the outfield is incredible. His arm strength is way above average and has the ability to play anywhere in the outfield.

The 23-year-old Pages is making a case that he is ready to be moved up when called upon. I do not question Pages’ ability to play in the outfield. Still, Andy Pages will need a few more games in OKC to really get his swing ready for the majors and be that consistent hitter the Dodgers desperately need at the bottom of the lineup. When Pages is brought up, he is going to be an exciting player to watch and become a fan favorite with his fielding and hitting abilities.
