The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off a series sweep of the San Francisco Giants, head up north to Chicago to play the Cubs in what will be a cold and windy first road trip of the 2024 season.

The Dodgers, who are in first place in the NL West with a 7-2 record, have dominated both sides of the ball, taking out the Cardinals and Giants in their 6-1 homestand. The Cubs sit a modest 4-2 after beating up the Colorado Rockies in their home opening series.

Who’s in & who’s out?

Prior to the final game of the Giants series, the Dodgers placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the 10-day IL due to a lingering back issue. He will be out for the foreseeable future.

In his place, the Dodgers will turn to recently claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell, who the Mariners DFA’d last week.

The Cubs will be without left-handed ace Justin Steele as he inquired his hamstring on Opening Day in the Cubs’ loss to the defending World Series Champion Texas Rangers. Imaging revealed that Steele has a Grade 1 strain and will be out.
