Update: 03/05/2021: Things are really starting to look good… sort of. The California guidelines for MLB ballparks are out.

Ok, and?

That means fans are welcomed at ballparks… BUT wait, before you jump up with joy remember our “boys in blue” are in LA County and that means they need to go by the rules of the “Purple Tier.” What that means is that under the purple tier guidelines no more than 100 fans would be allowed at Dodgers stadium if the home opener was tomorrow furthermore, teams in counties that under those guidelines will also NOT be allowed to sell food or drinks.

We are roughly about a month away from the Dodger’s home opener vs Washington, if LA County can move onto the “RED” tier by then Dodger stadium would be allowed to welcome 11,000 screaming fans. To do so, Los Angeles would need to average less than 7 positive cases per 100,000 residents… Angelinos, do you part so we can cheer for our Dodgers live from the Ravine sooner rather than later.

Yes it’s true! The news most of us… who am I kidding.. ALL OF US have been waiting to hear since March of 2020… “We can now attend a live baseball game!” is closer to being a reality but we are not quite there… YET!

On Wednesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom indicated that California’s ballparks would could reopen to fans for every game this season and maybe… maybe as early as April! (que the teenage girl scream in you)

It’s not a guarantee… yet but it’s enough to get us Dodgers fans giddy as we visualize attending a ball game again at the Ravine! Social media of course had their take, here are some tweets related to the topic of fans returning to the stands.

We’ll keep and eye on this topic as news develops from Sacramento… you never know, maybe one day in the near future we will get a tweet by Gov. Gavin Newsom similar to the one Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweet on Tuesday:

Highly unlikely but hey, you never know! Dodgers home opener is April 9th at 1:10p vs the Washington Nationals… hopefully we’re not on the outside looking in like this:
